King James Version

  1. 1As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
  2. 2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
  3. 4When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
  4. 3O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
  5. 4Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
  6. 5Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Douay-Rheims

Psalm 41 in the Douay-Rheims numbering.

  1. 2As the hart panteth after the fountains of water; so my soul panteth after thee, O God.
  2. 3My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God?
  3. 5These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me: for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God: With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting.
  4. 3Send forth thy light and thy truth: they have conducted me, and brought me unto thy holy hill, and into thy tabernacles.
  5. 4And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who giveth joy to my youth.
  6. 5To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp: why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me?
  7. 6Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God.
